10 Easter Basket Container Ideas for Kids That Are Not Traditional Baskets

It’s almost Easter! I love finding things that serve more than one purpose. So for my kids’ Easter baskets, I like finding something that they can use over and over again, whether that be a toy of some kind or a container for storing toys in their room.

I rounded up some unconventional, yet functional ideas for your kid’s Easter basket!

Easter Basket Container Sources
  1. Jumbo Sand Castle Bucket – One of my go-to Easter basket alternatives! I’ve done sand castle buckets a few times in the past. Our sand castle buckets are usually beat up come end of summer, so giving them a fresh one at Easter is a great gift for all.
  2. Magnatile Storage Bin & Playmat – If you already have magnetic building blocks, this would be a great storage option that you could use as an Easter basket vessel! My kids have this and it’s great as it folds open to a playmat for playing and then zips together for a storage bin when you’re done.
  3. Rainbow Woven Storage Basket – OrganiHaus is my favorite woven storage basket brand. I’m sure you’ve heard me mention them before. I have their large handle baskets for toy/blanket storage and laundry baskets around our house. This rainbow bin would be so cute as an Easter basket and subsequent toy storage!
  4. Toy Wagon – I just ordered this for my 2 year old’s Easter basket! My boys have an older toy wagon outside that they fight over about pulling. Now my youngest will have his own and he’s going to love it!
  5. Plastic Storage Basket – We have multiples of this basket in our house. It’s simple but has so many uses!
  6. Baseball hat – This would be a great idea for a slightly older child. Turn the hat upside and add a few goodies inside for their Easter basket this year!
  7. Large Toy Dump Truck – Both my boys would love this! What child wouldn’t? I love outside toys (small home living) and this would be great for the sandbox or dirt pile outside. You could put a few treats in the bed of the dump truck for Easter!
  8. Jelly Basket Tote – A tote bag for the beach or pool would be a great idea for a slightly older child. Fill it up with some practical summer items, like goggles, sunscreen, pool toys, etc.
  9. Polka Dot Lidded Baskets – Another storage basket idea – can’t go wrong with more storage! This lidded option would be good to hide toys/trinkets in a kid’s room.
  10. Handled Storage Basket – This is another favorite storage basket of mine. I have multiple ones (in different colors) all over our house. They come in multiple sizes too!

Hope you find these ideas helpful for a more functional Easter basket container! Happy Easter!
